Acer has delayed shipping for their Acer Iconia Tab A510 and the A511, what is causing all this trouble?
If you were looking forward on getting your hands on either the Acer Iconia Tab A510 or the A511, I’m afraid that you will need to look at other models. Sure, you could wait but Acer has no idea when they will have the problem fixed, a problem that is causing them quite a headache. If you have already purchased one, there is no need to worry since Acer has already made it clear that the tablets that have already been sold since they are in perfect condition.
The problem that has certain Acer Iconia Tab A510 and A511 tablets have can be found in the hardware and the flaw causes certain parts of the tablets to freeze. For now Amazon is not shipping the tablet but from the looks of it Best Buy is and for US$449.99 you can get the Wifi Version that features a 10.1-inch tablet with 1280 x 800 resolution,1GB RAM, 5MP rear camera, 1MP front camera, 32GB internal storage, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and a 9,800mAh battery for up to 15 hours of usage.
Good news for the European launch of Acer’s other tablet, the Iconia Tab A700 since its launch is not going to be affected. The higher resolution slate is going to be released sometime in June. When that month comes around you are going to enjoy specs such as a 1900 x 1200 HD resolution on the A700’s 10.1-inch screen but if you want to know the rest of the specs, all you need to do is look at the Tab A510, and the Acer Iconia Tab A700 is expected to retail for €549.
We have received information from Acer Spain and Acer Portugal claiming that there is no faulty hardware in the Iconia Tab A510 Tablet even though what was posted on Facebook Germany stated otherwise. Acer can asure that all the Iconia Tab A510 tablets that are at this time available have gone through strict controls to assure that Acer costumers receive nothing but the best from the company.
If you live in either of this two countries and have had a hard time finding the tablet it has been because of an internal misunderstanding and nothing else. Acer Spain and Acer Portugal do apologize for the confusion and the shortage of the tablet is also do to high demand and Acer will obviously work as hard as they can do provide everything with the affordable tablet. Acer also apologizes for those clients that have no other choice but to wait for the tablet.
