We can rest assure that Android 5.0 is going to be called since someone at ASUS let it slip.
Google’s Operating systems have been called quite a few things. Starting from Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, and then Ice Cream Sandwich.Unofficially the Android 5.0 OS was named Jelly Bean but since there was nothing official from Google, nothing was for sure….Until now.
Who confirmed what everyone already kind of knew? It was Benson Lin, an Asus executive overseeing mobile device, that let it slip that the next version of Google’s Android operating system will be called Android Jelly Bean. Lin also said that Asus is very close to Google, so once they have Android 5.0 he thinks that there is a high possibility that ASUS will be the first wave to offer the Jelly Bean update.
Being the first with Jelly Bean is not going to be a first for ASUS since they were also the first to have ICS on the Transformer Prime. Since all the OS names for Android have been in alphabetical order, kind of makes you wonder what the name is going to be after Jelly Been..Maybe…..Android 5.1 Karate??
