Anonymous Denies Involvement in PSN Attack

Anonymous’ logo in found in one of Sony’s compromised servers, what did Anonymous have to say?

Just when Sony thinks they have who was responsible for the attack on PSN, they end up at a dead end. Why Anonymous? Well the reason think that this company had something to do with it is because Sony found the companies logo on one of their SOE compromised servers. Sure looks like a good reason to suspect that they had something to do with it but the company has said that they have nothing to do with it.

“Public support is not gained by stealing credit card info and personal identities,” the statement reads. “We are trying to fight criminal activities by corporations and governments, not steal credit cards.” “If a legitimate and honest investigation into the credit card is conducted, Anonymous will not be found liable. While we are a distributed and decentralized group, our ‘leadership’ does not condone credit card theft.”

Just in case you are not familiar with what they so exactly, Anonymous’ MO is to fight organizations’ criminal activities with hacks. The company has also said that they would not attempt to take PSN down, because it did not want to “severely impact Sony customers.” Time will eventually tell if they have something to do with it or not and if not bring to justice whoever is.
