The Joo Joo Tablet formerly known as Crunchpad finally has a price tag and a pre-order date.
I think we all remember what horrible move Fusion Garage made to Arrington involving the Crunpad that will no longer be known with that name. One day receiving an email stating that Techcrunch is out of the project and that Fusion Garage will go ahead with their own device. Well, here it is and its called the Joo Joo Tablet. This tablet promises to put Web browsing on a large, lightweight touchscreen tablet, we will just wait and see if that is true.
Specs for the Joo Joo tablet include a 12.1-inch capacitive touch screen display, Unix operating system and boots directly into a Web browser in under 10 seconds—no other applications are available on the device, but you will be able to run Web-based applications. The Joo Joo Tablet connects to the Internet via Wi-Fi—no mobile data service is available. The tablet also features 4 GB SSD for storage, microphone and headphone jacks, and a microSD storage. The Joo Joo Tablet weighs about 2.4 pounds and gives its users5 hours of use on a single battery charge. Fusion Garage will start pre-orders for the Joo Joo Tablet on December 11, for $499.00.
Just in case you are wondering about the whole legal situation about Arrington and Fusion Garage the legal battle has just begun but Fusion Garage keeps saying that the had started the device before Arrington even came into the scene and they they have sole ownership pf the device and that there is no contractual relationship between the two companies. I guess we are just going to have to wait and see what the judge says.
