Rumor has it that HP will let go 25.000 employees in an effort to keep the company afloat.
The idea of a company having to fire any number of employees is something that we all hate to hear about but if they do, it is because they absolutely have no other choice. We understand that if they don’t do this, it puts the entire company at risk but that doesn’t mean that we have to like it. There is no official statement from HP but this could be true according to folks who are familiar with HP’s inner wheelings and dealings.
The reason that HP might be cutting 25,000 jobs is that it is part of the recent decision by top management to merge a couple of its business units, hence making redundant the number of employees by approximately 8%. This is obviously a move to save as much money to keep the company afloat since it would be an even bigger disaster if HP completely went under. HP was reached for a comment but declined to say anything for the time being but hopefully they will say something soon.
