That warm sensation after prolonged laptop use on lap may not feel so good when you skin starts changing color.
I think that every laptop (Myself included) has sometime in their life worked with their laptop on their laps. There are days when you don’t feel well but but so bad that you can’t catch up on some work and you decide to bring your laptop to bed with you (with the permission of your significant other of course, ha!). It is a habit that no one thought would be bad but studies have shown that that is a habit that we might want to leave behind.
If we continue with this habit we could end up with “toasted skin syndrome,” in other words you could get an unusual-looking mottled skin condition caused by long-term heat exposure. There was a case where a 12 year old after month of gameplay developed a sponge-patterned skin discoloration on his left thigh, so if you have a tendency to do the same a change of habit sure sounds like a good idea.
If this comes as a surprise then that could mean that one has not read the manual that came with their laptop since manufacturers like Apple, Hewlett Packard and Dell tell their users about this danger of placing laptops on laps or exposed skin for extended periods of time. Sure the toasty laptop may feel good during Winter but medical reports have shown that our skin is sure to suffer.
Is that a habit you have? Do you place your laptop on your lap for hours at a time?
